Welsh Government – Child First

It was really great to be involved in creating these super-helpful fact sheets for the Welsh Government. When unaccompanied asylum seeking children find themselves in Wales they face distinct and complex challenges. They are separated not only from their family, but from their community and country of origin and are seeking safety from persecution including armed conflict and war.

These factsheets help social workers to offer effective support for them. They are translated into 12 languages and have English copy running alongside to aid social workers or responsible adults in explaining the information to the child. They cover rights in respect of living arrangements, healthcare, education, care and support and legal issues.
